Technical and economic feasibility study for offshore transshipment operation

Intercontinental cargo transport is carried out mainly through the waterway modal, increasing number of vessels and deadweight ships. This means that onshore ports cannot stand demands and, to make them competitive in this reality, a very high investment needed, their expansion can produce serious environmental impact. Thus, it necessary search for alternatives facilitate flow regional world scenario. Hence, present work conducts technical economic feasibility study direct offshore transshipment operation solid bulk vegetable origin at Organized Port Vila do Conde, Brazil, using Net Present Value (NPV) methods, Internal Rate Return (IRR) Payback. In study, three scenarios were considered, each which had its particularity related operating life amount handled. Therefore, was noted more viable two – project's useful up 14 years, so capital an installation viable. Furthermore, found that, only worst-case scenario, overlapped other activity any period life.
